Located downtown in the center-city entertainment district, the Olive Street Building feature 4 large loft apartments. Parts of this building date to the 1880's, but it was completely renovated in 1989 with all new mechanical improvements such as electrical, plumbing and heating/air conditioning. Bill Graham, the renovator, saved many original architectural features.
All four lofts are on the second floor which provides extra privacy and added security. A dumbwaiter was installed to eliminate the hassle of carrying groceries and packages up the stairs. Each loft is unique, but all have luxurious amenities. All units have off-street parking, a security intercom from the apartment to the main entrance, central vacuum system, central heat and air, dishwasher, garbage disposal, built-in microwave, natural gas stove, and trash compactor.
Improvements and updates in 2006 include newly carpeted hallways and stairways and new Maytag laundry equipment. Heating and air conditioning units were upgraded again in 2007.
There is usually a waiting list for loft applicants as turnover is minimal.

Apartment A ($700.00 per month)
One bedroom with a large living Room, dining room and kitchen. bathroom has a tub & shower. The nicest feature of this apartment is the very spacious west porch which is accessed from the living room and the dining room. Lots of closet/storage space. Built in bookcases and built-in central vacuum. High ceilings, very private. About 900 SQ. FT.
Apartment B ($500.00 per month)
A studio apartment with many amenities. The highlight of this unusual unit is the large private porch with its southern exposure. It also has an exposed brick wall dating back to the late 1800's. Kitchen has the same amenities as the other loft units, plus a huge skylight. Bathroom has a shower (no tub). Built-in central vacuum. Lots of storage space.
Apartment C ($600.00 per month)
One bedroom with a large living room. Breakfast room has a large skylight, kitchen has oak cabinets. Spacious bathroom with a shower and tub. The bedroom has a large walk-in closet with brass appointments. Approximately 1000 SQ. FT. The entire apartment has wood flooring except for carpet in the bedroom. This is a luxurious unit with exceptional amenities, including a built-in central vacuum. Four 7 foot tall windows face south.
Apartment D ($800.00 per month)
Two Bedrooms with two baths. This loft is especially nice as it has a large living room, spacious dining area, well equipped kitchen and a private porch with a western exposure. High ceilings with ceiling & fan light units. The north bedroom has a view of Springfield's historic City Hall. Amenities include a built-in central vacuum. This loft is approximately 1000 SQ. FT., not including the large west porch.

A locked, first-floor, lighted storage unit is included with each apartment. Locks are keyed to your apartment key for convenience.
Use the dumbwaiter to send groceries and packages to the second floor. Simply load your items, press the button, and your items will be waiting for you upstairs.
Dual central vacuum system makes cleaning easy and convenient. Vacuum ports are located in all apartments, hallways, and in the lobby area.
